Just a quick note to say that the desk and arrived safely despite a torrential rainstorm this morning. The desk is situated upstairs in the barn and it looks fabulous. This evening I had the sincere pleasure of meeting a wonderful man. He never told me his name. He persisted through traffic jams and dark winding roads to find my home in Rancho Santa Fe. He brought my fabulous armchairs late on a Friday evening. They are perfect!

He was driving for Boston Truck Co., Inc. Invoice B 27458. It required two hours of back and forth phone calls to help him find his way. He was smiling when he pulled up to my drive. He hugged me good bye and left with a thermal mug of coffee and Christmas cookies. If only there were more people like him! If there is any way to identify him, I would like the carrier to know the extraordinary service given by this man.

If I'm lucky he'll bring my next pair of chairs; he knows the way now.

I wanted to let you know the sideboard arrived Sunday afternoon.

I immediately knew I had made the right decision when I saw it in my house. I felt as if I had owned the piece for years, because it looked so wonderful where we placed it.

My husband, who has made furniture and cabinets over the years and really inspects pieces he hasn’t made, has said on three different occasions how much he likes the sideboard.

I’ve never bought antiques online and normally wouldn’t consider buying something sight unseen and then having it shipped. However, the sideboard and the bench I purchased last year are so special in their design and in such nice condition, that they are my favorites pieces in my house.

The furniture is in the house and looks great. Whatever problems happened with things not fitting into spaces were cause by minor things like fancy curtain rods that stuck too far into the corner for the corner cabinet to fit, etc.Wayne and Jimmy, the movers, were very, very nice and helped me with these decisions. Everything is lovely. I had a hen party last night for friends to see the house, and all my friends loved the furniture.
